Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 6

Season 6 starts off with a bang when Willow performs a spell to bring Buffy back to life despite reservations from the other members of the gang.  Once back from the dead Buffy struggles to come to grips with normal everyday life after having experienced paradise and finds solace in the arms of Spike as the two begin a secret relationship that drags Buffy even further into despair.  This season also showcases many different public service message episodes that deal with addiction and abuse of power as Willow becomes addicted to magic and the new villains known as the trio create weapons and schemes that are dangerous and deviant in a moral sense.  This season also marks the departure of Giles as he heads back to England after discovering that he is standing in Buffy's way of growing as an adult, as well as the tragic departure of Tara as the leader of the trio shoots her dead in the backyard of the Summers house.  In many ways this is the darkest and most adult season of the show even though there are many moments of levity and the occasional silly episode.  The tone is very serious throughout and the season ends with a wicked showdown between longtime friends that is both awesome and emotionally charged.  A great season that boasts some of the best episodes in the history of the show including the musical episode which is still among the top 3 best episodes of all time.  Watch and enjoy.

  1. I loved Season 6! I loved how brave the writers were to go so dark and deal with themes like depression, loss of innocence, obsession and addiction. I also loved the dark and heartbreaking relationship Buffy and Spike had. It was a trainwreck, but I just couldn't look away. It was brilliant!
